Chapter 33 - Post-9/11 GI Bill®

Benefit Overview

USI is Proud to Offer In-State Tuition Rates for ALL Chapter 33 Recipients in addition to Section 702 of the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014 (“Choice Act”).  See the VMFRC for information.

Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill®) The Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 10, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.

Steps required to receive benefits under Chapter 33:

1. Complete a new application by selecting this Application Link

2. Submit a copy of your DD-214 to USI Military & Family Resource Center

3. Complete the USI Semester VA Education Benefit Request Form . The USI Semester VA Education Benefit Request Form must be processed prior to each semester attended; failure to do so will delay payment of your benefits.
